The snow took it's toll
Well on Sunday evening as we were heading out to the Cascade Quest Sled Dog Race awards banquet we were running along just fine and then there was a pop and we stopped in our tracks literally, so we had a nice 3 mile walk back home and it was really snowing hard about 3-4" in the time it took us to get back. Later that evening when I brought the dish back up for internet access had an email wanting to know where we were because we had some of the people that had been here for the race things in the back. Emailed for belts and friends called and ordered belts for the Ranger and told me they would be in Tues around noon. So we just waited, then Tues afternoon we were told via email that Bob and Mark had headed out this way. By 11pm we still hadn't heard anything,by 11:15 found out that Mark turned back but Bob kept going. he still never showed up here and about 2am the sherrif was notified that he was overdue. Come to find out he made it to the rig and dropped of the belts and turned back because it was so late, but the snowmobile he was riding started bogging down and he went back to the Ranger because he had all his stuff in there to make it through the cold and could get out of the snow, while there he replaced the broken belt and drove the Ranger out got back about 3:30 am. We were told that they were going to be up Wed evening to bring the Ranger up but I would have to take him back to the sled, now worries but instead they left the Ranger where the sled was becasue it got dark on them and they wantd to get back, which I really understand but because of all the snow we have goten since then it isn't possible to walk out to the rig. Not the position I want to be in so I've been putting out a call for any really good snomobile rider that isn't afraid of powder and can get here and take me back to my rig will be rewarded but so far haven't had any takers but know that it will happen when it is supposed to happen. it's been good though because I've been able to read some things that I have been putting off and it's been good.
