It's Spring at Trinity but still getting snow

This has been a very strange beginning to spring, last year by this time there was no snow anywhere to be found and the deer were racing to the feeder just as soon as they cleared the bridge and gate, they were right behind the hummingbirds, but they arrived last week and so far 3 species have been identified. But the snow doesn't want to give up just yet, last Sunday it snowed about an .5" thet stuck and then Monday it snowed off and on all day in between the clouds it was sunny, then it has been clear and warm with strong windswhich melts the snow and then it freezes at night so it has slowed the melt down. Yesterday while out walking with Kaia and Shaba and Raven and taking pictures it was sunny where we were behind the horse camp but looking back toward Trinity we saw the clouds moving in and it wasn't rain but it was snow that came and went 3 different times but it was clear last night and got to 27. During the strong winds and snow the hummers continued to come to the feeders and didn
't seem to have any problem navigating in the wind while some of the other birds did seem to. The snow was beautiful but with it melting it wouold be nice for it to just go now and start drying out some so the road will be accessible. Critters seem to be very active and it's nice to see again, they keep Kaia and Shaba and Gizmo very busy. Paradise is great hope you find your piece of paradise. Namaste

More Hummer shots

Taking a break from all that flying and not willing to be imtimidated by the intruder coming into the feeder, decided to stand his ground and kept eating.

Another intruder coming in showing off in a display of intimidation but it just isn't working at this moment.

Still enjoying the rest and even looking at me watchig and taking his picture which he seemed not to mind

Midair refueling and the military thought they were special, not only are they eating but also watching out for intruders and Gizmo the cat. Posted by Picasa
