Nashaba on the road to somewhere celebrating his 9th birthday yesterday, playing with his girl Kaia and the rest of the Trinity pack, Bob and I. He just loves to go as long as it's not in a vehicle but will go forever. A very special Boy.

Side by side comparison
Ok well we have been getting snow since Oct 31 and right now we have 6' at the houses at Trinity which is more than we had all last year combined, it is beautiful but I am so glad that we have the rigs we do to get around instead of having to depend on snowmobiles to get us around here, especially with the different types of snow that we get here.
We have been using the Bombadier with Lite foot tracks by Mattrack and I do like the SCS system on their tracks because they will go anywhere and have the ability to conform to whatever it is you are going over, that is a nice thing if going through rough terrain. They are a little harder to steer using the handlebars of the ATV unless you have some momentum before trying to turn them. they give you more ground clearance and they add 400# of wt but lowers the center of gravity. So far we have not found anything that has stopped it in it's tracks, except under the shadow area under a big tree and the woopty was a little much so it had to be helped out but it was very easy to get out with the Ranger. For travelling on the groomed road Bob has made skis that he just drives onto and away he goes using 2 wheel dr but they still need some tweaking but have been successful in several different types of snow and depths of snow but the 400 is just short on power the 800 should really make a difference.
As far as the RangerXP and the Polaris tracks goes I like it alot and would like it more with more power or at least better use of the 40 hp engine it has a limiter that restricts how fast it will actually go right now and yet I'm very happy about having it here it has already made a believer out of many skeptics mainly because of the different types os snow we get here the fluff is very dry and hard to get to pack or get much traction but it goes anywhere and will go up hills that I never thought it would go up but so far I am very pleased and with a few modifications believe that these will be the wave of the future here. Places that snowmobiles go I can go and then some and if it is a little difficult then just back out, not like with most snowmobiles. Now for sheer speed and fun snowmobiles still have their place for sure but for going in and out I like having the Ranger it carries so much more and not on my back. Last year I was limited in what I could bring in or out because it had to fit on my back no place to carry much extra on a snowmobile, especially the older ones. The problem I see with the Polaris tracks is that they are more rigid than the Lite Foot tracks and so there are a few trees that I have gone across or hit a dip a little fast and you can feel it more but they take a lickin and keep on truckin'. In the snow both tracks have performed very well and it will e spring before we are able to really try them out on different surfaces but so far they are great and a very welcome addition to both vehicles. So if you happen to see us on the road just wave and go on by but know that we will get where ever we are going and we won't have to dig or lift our rigs just keep on going no matter how deep the snow may be. On to the next adventure, yesterday it was clearing and packing roads and cutting trees up that had fallen across the roads with all the heavy wet snow. The Ranger has proven itself to be a steady workhorse and makes the road to the dam look better than it did all last year. The dump bed on the Ranger XP is a great feature and now just need to get the winch and then the manual work can be cut out completely except for loading the wood we cut. Have you found your Paradise yet?

Getting Lots of Snow
Namaste and Blessings for the 2006. IT's been a good year at Trinity and looking for many more. Since Thursday we have gotten about 24" of new snow here and yet the trails haven't been groomed since right after Christmas and with all the snowmobilers coming out and ripping all the new powder up the road here is really rough. There still is alot that they didn't get to but I have to say that going out the day before and just cuising around and up to Phelps Creek TH and out to Little Giant before anyone had a chance to tear it up was a blast. We now have over 5.5' of packed snow around the houses and about 6-7' up at the dam. I do like the fact that nothing is ton up here but what we have packed to make it easier to get around. I'll probably start the new year off with going up to the dam and see how it looks today since we didn't get there yesterday and with the new snow it could even be more interesting getting there, especially in the slide areas where it has aleady released several times and even on the road out here there are a few places that have been sliding and many snowballs falling down the hillsides, and ending up on the trail making it more difficult to navigate, want to stay alert when travelling. I plan to look for beauty and spread peace to all I come into contact with because that is really what matters. Life is Great, Paradise is beautiful, may you find yours, Life is ttoo short to waste and not enjoy what has been given to us, besides you can make your world how you want it to be, it starts with your thoughts and actions, make them great ones.
