Very busy 2 days

The pace at Trinity is usually very laid back, I don't wear a watch nor do I worry about the time, don't punch a time clock, but that all changed yesterday morning. I received an email that I would have people out here doing repairs on several snow survey stations owned by Chelan PUD and US NCRS. By 10:30 there were 6 trucks because each had their own vehicle, then the helicopter from World Wind showed up with Doug as the pilot for the 2 days. Nashaba happy. He did well with all of the excitement sepecially since he is always very standoffish, and usually stays hidden in the trees until he feels more comfortable, but he's always watching everyone. The best part was the helicopter trip to Park Creek snow station and Lyman snow station. The sad part is that the glacier is melting and if it continues at the rate it has been melting it won't be there in 10 years. My backyard is the Glacier National Wilderness and the largest concentration of glaciers in the northern hemisphere. I guess I should tell you about Trinity first then we'll get into the rest of the story. Trinity is an old copper mining town that was started in the early 20's by the Royal Canadian Development Co and at one time they had 400 people working here either in the mine or support for the mine, being so far from anything they were totally self sufficient, and they had their own saw mill and hydroelectric dam one of the oldest in the country, with the capacity 240 KW of electricity from a pelton wheel, and yes it is the one that was originally installed and runs continuously with minimal maint. but that is why I'm here. it has not been a mine for quite a long time but there are still some of the structures standing but mostly just 4 houses, the powerhouse of course, a bowling alley/ theatre, the setteling tank and the dam itself which is my favorite place year round. That's enough for now but I'll be back with many more pictures and lot's of good information you may or may not like. Peace and Blessings Tazz
